Last week we met with our 3rd grade buddy class - Ms. Coffield's class! Our students are paired up with a big buddy with whom they will be engaging in various learning and fun activities! Our goal is to meet once a month. During our first meeting, the older buddies video interviewed their younger buddies with their iPads to learn about them.
We also got to decorate and eat our own Gingerbread Kids! (They earned it for their first "Marble Jar Party".) They couldn't escape us! They went the way all Gingerbread Kids must go....
Gingerbread Man here again! Okay, so I snuck out once more after school. I thought I'd post about my adventures before Ms. Champ changes her blog password! I talked to the other classroom Gingerbread kids, and we decided to go explore around our campus after the teachers left. We went up to the front office, but it is still under construction, so we couldn't get in through the front door. This worker was nice enough to let me try out the pneumatic drill though! Now that was fun!
We all met up on the bench in the front office to decide where to go and to see who was around.
Ms. Cross, the School Secretary was working away! I tried to help, but I think I was distracting her.
Ms. Butler, the Principal's Secretary was also working hard. These two ladies run the school, so I left them alone to take care of business.
Ms. Villemaire and Ms. Ryan (our Principal and Assistant Principal) were meeting in their office, and they stopped for a kiss. (Between you and me, I think they were both hungry, and I was getting a little nervous about their mouths being so close!)
Next, we hit the playground! I love the spinners! ....but I got pretty dizzy and didn't feel very well, so I made my way into the library.
Thank goodness Nurse Sansom was in there! She gave me some oxygen and took care of me until I felt better. She told me that maybe I shouldn't use the spinners if they make me sick.
Ms. McAlister, our Librarian, read me a book until I felt better. She reads with such good voice, and knows so much about books! (Did you notice she's reading a book by one of our favorite authors? Mo Willems!)
Before I left, I got to meet Scaredy Squirrel. I LOVE his stories! He seemed a little (can you guess?) scared of me!
I decided I had enough, so I went back to our nice, safe, cozy classroom, where Mr. Robert, our custodian was cleaning. He is terrific!
Whew! I think I've had enough adventures for now, but you never know when I'm going to get an itch to go exploring again! If you were a Gingerbread Kid on the loose, where would you go?
Hi guys! Gingerbread Man here again. My vacation fun continued on Sunday, when Ms. Champ went to the movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. I snuck in and sat a few rows in front of her. The milkshakes there are delicious! I think I actually ate too much though. I had a bit of a stomach ache afterwards, but I still had fun!
I had such a good time this weekend, but I am worn out!!! Today, I have mostly been resting and napping with the pets. Ms. Champ was busy cleaning and running errands, so I enjoyed my last day of freedom by being really lazy.
As much fun as it has been to be out on my own, I think I'm ready to go back to school now. I'm feeling a little homesick. Plus, Ms. Champ's pets started looking at me with hungry eyes this evening! I think I'm better off at school, safe and sound! I wonder if Ms. Champ will figure out I escaped?
I've been thinking that I'm going to see if the other Gingerbread Kids, from the other Kindergarten classes, want to go on an adventure around school! I can't wait to tell them about my weekend and see if they want to join me next time. Stay tuned to see where my adventures take me next!
